We have been working pretty hard around here the last couple of weeks. With all our water and bug problems (will talk more about it later) we've been clearing out all the vegetation on the side of our house. The dirt you now see used to be a jungle of green. Matt took out three trees with his own hands and muscles and a little help from an axe. What a hunk!!
I got a new toy a couple weekends ago. It not only trims the grass but edges it too!! My other toy is what my little boy has given me from carrying him around, also shown in the picture. :)
So the latest on the house . . .
After flooding three times in one week about a month ago we have since gotten a wet basement person out to the house to give us an estimate of what needs to be done. And the diagnosis was that we need internal french drains. I had never heard of these until I moved to Pittsburgh so I will give a quick explanation to those in the dark like I was. What will happen is these guys will come to our house, jackhammer the perimeter of our house so that we have foot wide trenches all along the perimeter. Then they will install a sub-pump that will release the water that is in the inside of our walls and pump out any water that comes back into the walls/ house. That is a very basic explanation but hopefully enough so you understand. Then once they are done with their work we will then have Terminx come in and spray our termites and foundation ants that we've had since we moved in. Yes, I know what you are all thinking, our inspector must have been intoxicated or something to miss all these obvious signs that our house has problems. It seems to be one joy after the other, these are just the two biggest ones thus far. Our friends here have a theory that our house is built on an old Indian burial ground and thus is cursed. That sounds about right.

I love the arms...and the glasses! It is fun to read about your home ownership experiences. It sounds like fun (mostly).
Wow, I hope after all the hard work you won't have any problems with water or bugs. Good luck and I hope it all works out!
Those are some large "guns" you have aquired from all your hard work as a mother! The only thing that I could possibly recommend for the house troubles is to relax and smoke a little peyote. Who knows, it might help?!
Look at those guns amber! You look buff holding that weed whacker. I wish I had some of the joys of owning a home. But I am sure I will soon enough!
Holy smokes! You guys have been busy and I know that Matt has so much time on his hands, so that's a good thing. lol. And wow, Amber, you are looking buff. I'm glad you have such a reward to show for all your hard work as a mama.
