BYU Vs Notre Dame

October 20th was the day of the big BYU vs Notre Dame football game.  Matt and I for the last year had been off and on about going.  We wanted to go big time, but you know me the eternal cheap skate had a hard time swallowing the price tag amongst all the other things we were doing with our $. But as usual, Matt wins and once these friends said they were going (see picture below) I figured I better relax and build some memories.

These are our friends Dave and Jada. Hayden is in love with Jada and talks to her on her "cell phone"  and pretends to be her, too.  So we left on a Friday morning and drove up to Chicago.  Our apple maps kept leading us astray adding 2 hours of total wandering to our short trip - dang it!! It was also pouring down rain and we were soaking when we went out on the town that night - we still had smiles though.

Finally we made it to this famous Chicago style pizza restaurant waited an hour to sit and then another 30 min for our pizza and then...

we got this delicious thing.  It was cheese central!!

On Saturday we drove over to South Bend, IN to check out Notre Dame's campus and watch the game.

The campus and old buildings were impressive and beautiful.

I found it interesting that there was no jumbo tron to watch replays on.  They just had two scoreboards and that was it.  I guess they truly stick to old tradition! You can see "touchdown Jesus" behind the score board.

One of the great things about being a BYU fan is that fans are everywhere and they show up to every game in huge numbers.  There was a sea of blue at this game cheering on their Cougs. I love the BYU pride.

While we were gone, Ryan and Whitney stayed with the kids. Whitney sent me this picture and it about broke my heart.  Carter lost his first tooth while we were gone. He told Whitney that he wanted "a bunch of dollars from the tooth fairy. Like 50 or 20."  He got two, sorry we don't want the tooth fairy going broke!!

On the way home this poor pregnant woman had to experience something I have had to put up with for 10 years - Matt's gas.  It is violent and ruthless.  My complaints have finally been validated!!

Overall we had a great time - I just wish we would have had more time. We definitely need to get up to Chicago again!! Anyone want to join us?

Pumpkin Patch Time

It's that time of year again, where we bundle up and go search out pumpkins and baby goats to feed.  Luckily for us, we hit one of the last nice days of fall.  It was a beautiful day with the sun shining and a nice breeze.
It was even complete with a little child screaming with delight at the goats.  Abbie could not get enough!!  She was so extremely excited with these goats that all she could do is scream.  I have video down below of it.
We checked out cows.
Grandma helped Abbie discover chickens.
Here was an adorable baby goat.

I was attempting a Hayden picture, but brother couldn't be left out of the spotlight.

Abbie once again would not calm down until she got to ride one of the tractors that the older kids were riding.

The kiddie corn maze.

The horse swings were a favorite.

This is what the clan was up to. I love that every picture I take of everyone Grandma is trying her darndest to get a picture of Abster.

Carter's big smile in this picture is priceless.

This is a perfect example of what it's like to try to take of picture of the 3 kids!!!

I adore this little girl with her toothy grin and big ole blonde fountain on top of her head.

My Babies!! How I love each of them!!  Being a Mom truly is the BEST!

About the video below: Abbie was so excited about the goats she couldn't help but SCREAM for them.  BUT what really cracked me up about this video is that I had no idea that Hayden was trying to give the goats a drink from her juice box. I know she drank from that straw after we moved on from the goats.  I laughed for hours after watching her incriminating video evidence.

So the above video on my computer showed it upside down but once uploaded to you tube it was right side up, hence the title of the video below:

The Great Wolf Lodge

Matt was asked to speak at a Midwest Podiatric Conference and because of this his practice offered to pay for us to spend the night at The Great Wolf Lodge where the conference was being held.  This lodge is known for it's super fun indoor waterpark which the passes were included in the cost of our room.

The kids had their own section of our hotel room - their own Wolf Den.

It was a BIG hit amongst all the kids including Abbie.  She could not handle it when the kids were in on their beds and she wasn't.  She wanted to be right there with her siblings the whole time!!

Carter was a natural on this balancing rope course.  A lot of kids could not get across but he made it every time.  He was very proud of himself.

A kid hot tub.  They loved this since usually kids are not allowed in hot tubs.

Love that tongue. All the kids do it and they get it from their dad.  Such a Mattie trait.

 My beautiful goofy girl.

Owwww!!!  Our little wolf pups were sad to say goodbye, but we sure had a great time!!
