Pittsburgh Pumpkin Patch

Since Matt didn't have the chance to go to the Kansas City Pumpkin Patch we thought we would go to one out here. This one was really cute and had a variety of kids activities. Carter pet some goats and sheep and looked at a warthog. He also got to go on a pony ride and a horse drawn wagon ride. They had lots of big wooden toys for kids to climb on and Carter loves anything he can climb on.

And of course we had to get lots of pictures of our pumpkin sitting on pumpkins!

HELP NEEDED!!

So I finally thought I would be daring and try a new template for my blog. Now I am very computer illiterate and trying this new thing was a big step for me. Sadly, I got burned. I lost all my family and friends contacts and have spent a long time putting some that I could find back on. So what I need from you guys is:

1. If I do not have your contact on my list and have had it before or should have it please leave me a comment so I can put it back on.

2. Because my template is seasonal I will have to change it again in about a month. I do not want to go through this again so could someone tell me what I did wrong?!?!

THANKS!!!!

Kitty (The Dog)

Kitty, the dog (my in-laws pet), and Carter have a love-hate relationship in that Carter loves Kitty and Kitty is greatly annoyed by Carter. As soon as Carter would come near her she was out of there as quick as she could. Carter spent many an afternoon trying to chase her down and just as he would get close, bam she was off like a rocket. Poor boy would get so sad and frustrated. If you could see how much this little boy LOVES!! dogs you would understand how heartbroken he was from this. As shown in the picture above if Kitty was promised a good rub she would put up with Carter coming near. One thing though that Kitty didn't mind was we would play with her, like catch and trying to pull her toys away from her, for long periods of time because Carter LOVED watching her growl and run and jump. One time Carter was laughing so hard he fell over backwards. Hopefully some day Kitty and Carter will be able to be good buds.

Lookin Studly at the Zoo

Carter knew there probably would be some pretty cute chicas at the zoo so he wanted to make sure that he was dressin to do some impressin. I would have to say he was successful.
I don't know how well you can see his facial expression on the Royals Lion, but this is a new face of his. He sticks out his bottom lip and juts out his lower jaw. It is quite humorous.

Workin it with the Ladies.

It's hard work looking so dang cute.

Pumpkin Patchin it in KC

It's so embarrassing to have to pose with my mother all the time. Geez.

Carter with his Aunt Whitney.

I could not get Carter to sit still for a picture for the life of me so these are random take what I could get pictures. He is at the "I have to get my hands on everything and then put it in my mouth" stage. No wonder he had the runs for a week a little bit ago. Hopefully I'll have better luck at the next pumpkin patch.

Bad to the Bone

Carter and I just got back yesterday from Kansas City, MO visiting Matt's parents and sister, Whitney. We had a lot of fun going to the zoo, a pumpkin patch, drumline competition, choir concert, and sitting around the house laughing at all the funny things Carter would do. Over the next few days I will post more pictures from our trip. This particualr "photo shoot" was inspired by a Harley Davidson leather jacket that I bought brand new at a yard sale for $2. Matt's dad, Jay, is looking to buy a Harley so when I saw that jacket I knew I needed to buy it to take it to KC.

"Are you talking to me?"

Binky Wars

This is one of Carter and Matt's favorite games. One puts the binky in the mouth backwards and the other one fights to get the other end in their mouth. It is quite funny and cute to watch.

Idle Wild is a Wild Time

This last Saturday (October 6) we went with some friends to an amusement park called Idle Wild. It was voted #2 best kid's park in the country. It was all decked out for Halloween. Carter had a great time riding a few rides and observing all the kids.

Carter going in for a kiss. He loves to give Kisses and I love to receive them!

It was a great family day, especially because we were all together.

And Yet Another Crib Incident

Oh about a month ago, Carter was in his room crying in a screaming type way putting himself to sleep when I hear THUMP and then a full out scream. I ran in and sure enough he had catipulted himself out of his crib and onto the floor. Well, then a few days later after putting the mattress down a level Carter was back in his room crying himself to sleep once again. The screaming/crying seemed to last a little longer and a littler stronger than normal, but no thump was heard so he was obviously just fine. But to my surpise when I went in to his room once he woke up he was hanging on for dear life so that he did not slip down into the corner abyss of his crib. Somehow one of the corners of the crib fell down and somehow he fell asleep on a slant clinging onto a portion of his sheets as to not fall down as well. Poor thing. My biggest regret is that I did not follow the cardinal rule: Take picture first, save baby second.

But the crib drama does not end there. Today, Carter took a long morning nap and before he ever started crying for me to go in and get him out I hear Thump following by a Scream. Sure enough Carter once again launched out of his crib. The reason I use the word "launch" is that there is no way he just fell out, because when he is standing in his crib the top of the crib is at his chin. How in the world did he do a pull up and somehow manuever his body over the crib bar? This kid never ceases to amaze me!

My First Hair Cut . . . And Mommy Messed it Up!

As you can see from the picture below, Carter has been in need of a haircut. I was in denial of this fact even though I had a number of friends telling me that Carter did in fact need a haircut. I think I was in some crazy mindset that if I cut Carter's hair short I would also be cutting his "babyhood" short and I could not bring myself to do that. So, I came up with a gameplan, I was just not going to cut his hair too short. Well, I messed that one up. I took one swipe at his hair, realized indeed how short it was going to be and started freaking out and made Matt finish it up so that I would not be the only one to damage little Carter's "babyhood." Now with a good three inches plus shorter hair, he is looking pretty handsome and yes a little bit older.

Before:

Both Matt and Carter got their haircut. Afterall, men have to stick together.

After:

Tahdaa!!

I think he likes it. :)
